If your getting a tree full of blooms and no fruit then the bees are letting you down. Take a Q-tip and do the job yourself. If you get fruit then it's a bee thing...
ReplyDeleteU want Fuji Apples from Ca?
ReplyDeleteHi Norm. No! No flowers. Last year I had about 4 flowers, 3 turned into apples and all 3 dried up and fell off.
ReplyDeleteThis year about the same, 3 flowers in what looks like the exact same place that fruited.
The tree is old looking, very tall now with some of last years branches sticking straight up.
Granted, it doesn't get very cold here for fruit to set, but what's up with the no flowers???
Chu want Fuji Apples from NorCal?
ReplyDeleteJeeeeeeeees.
ReplyDeleteI have a few apple trees that only put on a few apples while their neighbors break branches from their load. Why? I have no idea. My father tells me to cut them down and plant new-he tells me that but all he does with his slackers is swear at them when he walks by.
ReplyDeleteIt's time to turn your attention elsewhere.

Norm, I like your father. I want to cut it down too and plant a peach tree. My neighbors peach tree is loaded. And they won't share.
ReplyDeleteShoeman, you're right about that!
The tree may be past it's prime. Be polite!
ReplyDeleteBut replace it.
I knew an old man who grew peach trees from pits. Maybe you could steal one or two from that greedy neighbor who hogs his peaches. I went back to the old man's orchard some years after he died to gather a few to try to grow myself. The orchard was all overgrown and all of the peach trees had died from a blight. As I remember, he was able to get peaches after 4 years from planting a pit.
