ROAD TRIP - Guadalajara 2004 June 2009
I guess the first place I set out to explore was Guadalajara. El Centro, with the famous plazas, museums, Cathedral, and San Juan de Dios.
San Juan de Dios is a 3 sq block and 3 story shopping complex that recently celebrated it's 50th birthday. A warren of puestos selling everything from saddles and mangos to parrots and tortas ahogadas (drowned sandwiches).
A total feast for the eyes - and stomach. First floor sells merchandise, second floor produce and food stalls, and third floor electronics, shoes, and clothes. Recently it has been dubbed Taiwan de Dios for it's new plethora of cheap Chinese junk.
